Baseball Recap: Garfield Takes a Loss

Garfield came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Eastside Catholic Crusaders. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Garfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lockie McIver, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Garfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Eastside Catholic, their record is now 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Garfield is set to take on their familiar foe Seattle Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Eastside Catholic will challenge rival Lakeside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crusaders 3.7, the Lions 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
