Baseball Recap: Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hill Freedman World Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech). They blew past Hill Freedman World Academy 17-1 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Kasseem Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Johnson was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Justin Fajardo-Jimenez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chance Morris, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech's record now sits at 2-7. As for Hill Freedman World Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech will venture away from home to square off against Samuel Fels at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hill Freedman World Academy, they will welcome Jules E.
