Basketball Recap: Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Comes Up Short

Wichita Defenders HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 34-27 defeat to the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes. While losing is never fun, the Defenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 17th).

Wichita Defenders HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

When Wichita Defenders HomeSchool and Sunrise Christian Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Wichita Defenders HomeSchool will try to stop Christ Prep Academy's five-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. Similarly, Sunrise Christian Academy will take on Hesston and their five-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
