Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Spartans vs. Wilson Area Warriors

Notre Dame is 1-8 against Wilson Area since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Notre Dame lost 8-1 to East Stroudsburg North on Monday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Notre Dame saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcos Bordas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Matthew Rivera also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Wilson Area came up short against Notre Dame-Green Pond on Monday, falling 10-3.

Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wilson Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Wilson Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Notre Dame hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Wilson Area, though, as they've only averaged .233. Will they be able to contain Notre Dame's hitters?

Notre Dame might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Wilson Area in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
