Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chula Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Eastlake by a score of 16-9 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Otay Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Chula Vista, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7.

Otay Ranch took their win against Chula Vista in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
