Volleyball Recap: Spanish Fork Comes Up Short

After flying high against Salem Hills on Tuesday, Spanish Fork came back down to earth. The Dons fell 3-1 to the Springville Red Devils on Thursday. The Dons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Devils earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20.

Sawyer Larsen paced Spanish Fork's offense, picking up ten kills. Larsen got some help from Kono Naulu and his 25 assists. Finally, Dylan Bluth kept Spanish Fork's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Spanish Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Springville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-7.

Spanish Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against North Sanpete on the 21st. As for Springville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Provo on the 18th.
