Recap: Wellston Golden Rockets vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes

The Wellston Golden Rockets lost against the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wellston was dealt a 73-33 defeat at the hands of Nelsonville-York. Wellston has not had much luck with Nelsonville-York recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Keagan Swope continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Nelsonville-York, shooting 6-for-10 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine assists. Swope is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Briant Call, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals.

Wellston has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Nelsonville-York, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

Wellston will be playing at home against Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellston is on a five-game streak of home losses, Clay an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Nelsonville-York, they will head out on the road to challenge Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
