The Bucksport Golden Bucks will face off against the Sumner Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Bucksport came up short against Narraguagus and fell 3-1. The Golden Bucks haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 16-25, 25-16.
Despite the defeat, Bucksport got top-tier performance from Marina Keene, who had 22 digs and five aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Hanscom, who had 15 digs and ten assists.
Meanwhile, Sumner came up short against Machias on Friday, falling 3-0.
Sumner was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12, 25-13.
Bucksport now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Sumner, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything went Bucksport's way against Sumner in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Bucksport made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Golden Bucks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
