Softball Recap: East Davidson Extends Winning Streak to Four

East Davidson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks.

ALYSSA STALEY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Kenzi Cribb was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Natalie Holt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

East Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Forsyth Home Educators, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Davidson will host Salisbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Forsyth Home Educators, they will welcome Ambassador Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
