Memory Lane: Sam Darnold
Looking back at projected top pick with his high school football coach.

After throwing for 7,229 yards and 57 touchdowns in two seasons under center at USC, Sam Darnold is preparing for April's NFL Draft.

The latest mock drafts over at CBSSports.com have Darnold coming off the board early in the first round and there is still plenty of discussion about him being taken with the No. 1 pick.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound signal caller jumped on to USC's radar while at San Clemente (Calif.), where he starred as a point guard for the basketball team in addition to football.

San Clemente head coach Jaime Ortiz joined us for a look back at his star pupil in the debut edition of Memory Lane.
