Softball Recap: Waupaca Comets vs. Oconto Falls Panthers
Waupaca had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it seven. They fell 7-3 to the Oconto Falls Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 back in April.

Waupaca saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was H Bechard, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Bechard has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. A Koran also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
As for Oconto Falls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.
On Oconto Falls' side, Randi Metzler was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave Metzler a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Coming up, Waupaca will be playing at home against Freedom at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
