Volleyball Recap: Peotone Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ella Stupegia and Peyton Bisping

Peotone lost against Manteno back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. While the Blue Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-19 in the first set.

Peotone started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Peotone's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Bisping, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Ella Stupegia, who had 13 digs and one assist.

Morgan Derrico was nothing short of spectacular for Manteno: she had 24 digs. Those 24 digs gave Derrico a new career-high.

Peotone's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Manteno, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

Peotone wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Herscher on the 25th. As for Manteno, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Streator on the 25th.
