Volleyball Recap: San Jacinto Falls Despite Big Games from Skylar Murphy and Jo Jo Camargo

After flying high against Tahquitz last Wednesday, San Jacinto came back down to earth. San Jacinto lost 3-0 to the Temescal Canyon Titans on Friday.

San Jacinto was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-18.

San Jacinto's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jo Jo Camargo, who had 14 digs, and Skylar Murphy, who had nine kills, four digs, and four blocks. What's more, Murphy also posted a 17.9% hitting percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since March 4th.

San Jacinto has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. Temescal Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

San Jacinto and Temescal Canyon will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time San Jacinto sees the court they'll take on West Valley at 5:00 p.m. on April 9. As for Temescal Canyon, their break will end when they face Elsinore at 5:30 p.m. on April 9.
