Volleyball Recap: Chesnee Comes Up Short

Chesnee was the 3-1 winner over Greer when they last played one another back in September of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the Yellow Jackets on Saturday. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Their offense was headlined by Dacie Green and Payden Pitman, who picked up seven kills apiece. Green also shared the team's lead in assists with Abbie Olson: they picked up ten each.

Greer was led to victory by Ivey Tapp and Miriam Onofre. Tapp had nine assists and eight digs, while Onofre had seven digs and five assists. That's the most digs Tapp has posted since back in August.

Chesnee's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4-1. As for Greer, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Chesnee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Blacksburg on the 30th. As for Greer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Catawba Ridge on the 27th.
