Softball Recap: Columbus Has No Trouble Against Lone Tree

Columbus hadn't done well against Lone Tree recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 8-2 victory. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lone Tree, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Central Lee on Monday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lone Tree, they will face off against Hillcrest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Ravens at the right time seeing as the Ravens are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
