Volleyball Game Preview: Nixa Eagles vs. Lafayette Lancers

The Nixa Eagles will challenge the Lafayette Lancers on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Nixa comes in on 13 and Lafayette on 23.

Nixa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Blue Springs South as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Mara Coulter was the offensive standout of the match as she had 15 digs and three assists. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Meanwhile, Lafayette faced Cor Jesu Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chargers.

Nixa better focus on containing Alexa Hastings and Addy Wiese as the pair were huge in Lafayette's win. Hastings had seven digs and two aces, while Wiese had 13 digs and two aces. What's more, Hastings racked up 16 assists, the most she's had over her last nine matchups. Aubrey Toti also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lafayette was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.

Nixa's victory bumped their record up to 28-9. As for Lafayette, their win bumped their record up to 38-1.
