Recap: Seeger Patriots vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers
If the Seeger Patriots were feeling good off their 58-34 takedown of the South Newton Rebels on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Seeger took a 59-40 bruising from Clinton Prairie on Saturday. Seeger was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clinton Prairie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Seeger's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Pluimer, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Pluimer scored a full 32.5% of Seeger's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ayden Winchester was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Seeger's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Clinton Prairie, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seeger will take on North Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Montgomery focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Clinton Prairie, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Western Boone at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th.
