Basketball Game Preview: East Greenwich Avengers vs. Moses Brown Quakers

The East Greenwich Avengers will head out to challenge the Moses Brown Quakers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. East Greenwich is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.

Last Monday, East Greenwich came up short against Narragansett and fell 54-43. The Avengers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, East Greenwich saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aidan Glynn, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Scaramella, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, Moses Brown faced Coventry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Moses Brown enjoyed a cozy 62-48 victory over Coventry. Winning may never get old, but the Quakers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

East Greenwich better focus on containing Donovan Clement and Otis Crosby as the pair were huge in Moses Brown's win. Clement dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Crosby dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Crosby's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Collin Mburu, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

East Greenwich's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Moses Brown, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

East Greenwich strolled past Moses Brown in their previous meeting back in February of 2020 by a score of 52-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Greenwich since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
