Basketball Recap: Edisto Comes Up Short

Edisto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 23-19 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bridges Prep Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-16 back in January.

Bridges Prep found their leader in freshman Addie Taylor, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played.

Edisto's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Bridges Prep, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

Edisto has already played their next contest (against Barnwell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Bridges Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-37 loss against Hampton County on the 5th.
