Recap: Arthur County Wolves vs. Potter-Dix Coyotes
The Arthur County Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Potter-Dix by a score of 63-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arthur County in their matchups with Potter-Dix: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Arthur County still got an impressive performance from Talan Storer, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Kane Delatour was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Arthur County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Potter-Dix only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Leading Potter-Dix to victory were Landon Gasseling and Brayden Kasten. Gasseling scored 23 points, while Kasten scored 26 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gasseling has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxen Buettenback, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Arthur County has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Potter-Dix, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Arthur County will be playing at home against Wauneta-Palisade on Friday. Arthur County is facing Wauneta-Palisade at the right time seeing as Wauneta-Palisade is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Potter-Dix, they will head out on the road to take on Hay Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Potter-Dix has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
