Pontotoc and Nettleton are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Warriors will take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Pontotoc is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Clarksdale a 23-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.

Olivia Galloway made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. In other batting news, Kelsy Spears was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Erynn Boddie, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Nettleton waltzed into their game on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past Hatley 11-0. The result was nothing new for Nettleton, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Bailey Payne's shutout, as she gave up just two hits.

At the plate, Nettleton got a big performance out of Kennice Finnie, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Savannah Harlow was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Nettleton pushed their record up to 25-2-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pontotoc, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.
