Basketball Game Preview: Longview Christian vs. Poetry Community Christian Pioneer

Longview Christian are taking a road trip to challenge the Poetry Community Christian Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Longview Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 55 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Christian Heritage on Tuesday. They took a 39-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sentinels. Longview Christian hasn't had much luck with Christian Heritage recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite their loss, Longview Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Obed Sandel, who posted eight points and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Judah Sandel, who put up seven points in addition to nine steals and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Poetry Community Christian ended up a good deal behind Westlake Academy on January 7th and lost 62-44. The Pioneer have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Longview Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Poetry Community Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Longview Christian came up short against Poetry Community Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 41-30. Can Longview Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
