Basketball Recap: Gate City Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Gate City lost against Central Wise last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Gate City Blue Devils took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Wise Warriors. That makes it the first time this season the Blue Devils have let down their home crowd.

It was another big night for Emmah McAmis, who posted 34 points for Central Wise. McAmis' evening made it 16 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Abbie Jordan, who put up seven points.

Gate City's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4. As for Central Wise, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Gate City has already played their next game, a 57-49 defeat against Dobyns-Bennett on the 28th. As for Central Wise, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 93-13 win against Lee on the 28th.
