Basketball Recap: South Pontotoc Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when South Pontotoc challenged Hatley on Monday. The Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to the Tigers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.

South Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hatley, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, South Pontotoc won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ripley at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Hatley, they and Belmont will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
