The Winchester Community Golden Falcons will take on the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Winchester Community comes in on six and Lapel on nine.
On Friday, Winchester Community blew past Union City, posting a 61-28 win. The Golden Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Aidan Weatherhead continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 119 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hummel, who rushed for 112 yards and one score on only eight carries.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Winchester Community, adding 19 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Weatherhead, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Lapel gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over Eastern Hancock. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Lapel's win came from a few key players Winchester Community will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaxon Cripe, who picked up 108 receiving yards and three TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Craig, who threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns.
Lapel's run defense was locked in: Eastern Hancock could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Isaiah Young for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Lapel; they were averaging 6yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 4.6 per game.
Lapel's defense didn't let Elijah Edon, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Mason Kenemer was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine. Young was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 17 total tackles.
Lapel's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Winchester Community, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Winchester Community was dealt a bruising 49-19 defeat at the hands of Lapel in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for the Golden Falcons, Rylie Hudson (who rushed for 90 yards and three scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
