Baseball Recap: Carver Comes Up Short

Carver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to the Norwell Clippers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crusaders have suffered against the Clippers since May 6, 2015.

Carver saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Holmes, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Teagan Zakrzewski was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Norwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Carver will be playing in front of their home fans against Cohasset at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders are facing the Skippers at the right time seeing as the Skippers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Norwell, they will challenge Falmouth at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
