Football Recap: Freedom Area's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against New Brighton last Friday, Freedom Area came back down to earth. The Bulldogs received a blow on Friday as they fell 28-14 to the Ellwood City Wolverine. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ellwood City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Domenik Hogue, who picked up 169 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Hogue a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Tyler Smiley, who threw for 203 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes.

The loss snapped Freedom Area's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for Ellwood City, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-2.
