Football Preview: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Ichabod Crane Riders
The Lansingburgh Knights will challenge the Ichabod Crane Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lansingburgh is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Lansingburgh barely beat Cohoes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights blew past the Tigers 44-0 on Friday. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.
Lansingburgh found their leader in sophomore Anari Fredericks, who rushed for 148 yards and three scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Fredericks didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made two total tackles.
Lansingburgh was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lansingburgh's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Sania Fredericks with two.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ichabod Crane's offense. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of Averill Park on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 133rd).
Lansingburgh's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Ichabod Crane, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
