Volleyball Recap: Valwood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Valwood can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Highland Christian Academy EAGLES by a score of 2-0. The Valiants have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the EAGLES, too.

Valwood easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-20.

Sara Daugharty paced Valwood's offense, picking up five kills. Daugharty were helped by Abby O'Neal and Carrigan Collins, who contributed eight assists each. Collins also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Piper Martin, racking up three apiece.

Valwood now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Highland Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Coincidentally, Valwood and Highland Christian Academy will both be playing Georgia Christian the next time they take the court. The Valiants will host the Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the EAGLES will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
