Recap: Marlboro Central Dukes vs. Spackenkill Spartans
On Friday, The Marlboro Central Dukes got themselves on the board against the Spackenkill Spartans, but the Spackenkill Spartans never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 31-0 win over the Spartans. The result was nothing new for Marlboro Central, who have now won three contests by 31 points or more so far this season.
Miles Brooks had an outrageously good game as he threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 100 yards on only ten carries. Antonio Hickman was another key contributor, picking up 41 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Marlboro Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Ryan Emig and his two sacks.
Marlboro Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Spackenkill, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Marlboro Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Spackenkill will head out on the road to face off against Dover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
