Volleyball Recap: Durand Takes a Loss

Durand was the 2-1 winner over Polo when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Marcos by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Marcos 25-20 in the first set.

Durand started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Lola Robertson paced Durand's offense, picking up 12 kills. Robertson got some help from Mary Jane Norman and her 16 assists. Vaida Lahey and Emily Quine kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Durand's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Durand will square off against rival Galena at 8:50 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Polo is set to face off against their familiar foe Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
