Basketball Recap: Macee Rodman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City over Dieterich

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City suffered their closest defeat since December 3, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Dieterich Movin Maroons by a score of 49-46. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-36 last Thursday.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Macee Rodman, who went 7 for 15 en route to 16 points and five steals. That was a full 34.8% of Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethel Stuckemeyer, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Kady Tegler had a dynamite game for Dieterich, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Tegler a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Miller, who scored seven points and seven boards.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Dieterich, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City will take on Neoga at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dieterich, they will challenge Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
