Belleville West dropped their record down to 17-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Bulldogs. Surprisingly, this marked the Maroons' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Belleville West saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Fultz, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

As for Highland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-12. Surprisingly, this marked their fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

On Highland's side, Nolan Houchins looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Houchins has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Blaise Hawkins, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Chase Knebel was another key player, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with one RBI.
