Basketball Recap: Trey'von Nicholson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rocky Mount Prep over Warren County

Rocky Mount Prep was the 75-70 winner over Warren County when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warren County Eagles on Friday.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey'Von Nicholson, who posted 17 points. Qualique Jones was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Nazir Shaw had an outrageously good game for Warren County as he on his way to 21 points along with five assists and three steals. Shaw is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 42% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Khalil Townsend, who had 11 points.

Rocky Mount Prep's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Warren County, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.

Rocky Mount Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-72 defeat against Weldon on the 17th. As for Warren County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-47 loss against Wilson Prep on the 17th.
