Volleyball Game Preview: East Wilkes Cardinals vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

The East Wilkes Cardinals will square off against the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. West Wilkes took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on East Wilkes, who comes in off a win.

If Wilkes Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played East Wilkes, they should've done a better job of containing Gracelynn Whitt. The Cardinals won by a set and slipped past the Eagles 3-2 with plenty of help from Whitt, who had 20 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

East Wilkes wouldn't go down easily and took Wilkes Central into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 20-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes lost 3-0 to North Wilkes on Thursday. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-14.

The victory made it two in a row for East Wilkes and bumps their season record up to 7-15. As for West Wilkes, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
