Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 68-31 stomp they got against the Twin Lakes Indians. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Indians are ranked 297th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gabby Thomas was nothing short of spectacular: she went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Zoey Wood, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.
Mt. Vernon was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
