Volleyball Recap: Whiteland Warriors vs. Triton Central Tigers
Whiteland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Triton Central Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.
Whiteland actually scored more points across those five sets (103-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 19-25, 15-8.
Sophia Dyer paced Whiteland's offense, picking up 13 kills. Dyer got some help from Carrie Ginder and her 23 assists. Finally, Dyer was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.
Whiteland has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Plainfield on the 19th. As for Triton Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Indianapolis Lutheran on the 20th.
