Soccer Game Preview: Scottsdale Christian Academy vs. Anthem Prep

The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Anthem Prep Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Shadow Mountain on Saturday. Scottsdale Christian Academy came up short against Shadow Mountain, falling 6-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Alejandro Lanphar, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Anthem Prep came up short against St. John Paul II Catholic back in December of 2024 and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Lions are ranked 13th).

Anthem Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-2.

Everything went Scottsdale Christian Academy's way against Anthem Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2022, as Scottsdale Christian Academy made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scottsdale Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
