Football Game Preview: Cushing Tigers vs. Ardmore Tigers + Official Tickets

Cushing will face off against Ardmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Cushing sitting on nine straight victories and Ardmore on seven.

Cushing is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hilldale 63-34. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Cushing got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Roman Tucker out in front who threw for 290 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tucker has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last eight times he's played. Lane Simpson was another key player, gaining 150 total yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cushing was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Cushing didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Simpson and Jordan Kersey. Jake Martin was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Ardmore was able to grind out a solid victory over Elk City on Friday, taking the game 28-21.

Ardmore's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Cushing, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Cushing has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ardmore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 303 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
