Softball Recap: Westmont Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Westmont had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Los Altos Eagles on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-4 back in April.

Regan Steele spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Westmont's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kristen Johiro, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Westmont and bumps their season record up to 14-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Los Altos, they moved to 14-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Westmont nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
