Basketball Recap: Make It 24 in a Row for Meridian

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Meridian walked away with it. They breezed past the Goochland Bulldogs to the tune of 80-22 on Saturday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matches by 23 points or more this season.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 24-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.4 points over those games. As for Goochland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Meridian will host Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meridian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 games -- so hopefully Skyline likes a good challenge. Goochland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
