Softball Recap: Berkeley Prep's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Berkeley Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Berkeley Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Quinn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Olivia Malin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Berkeley Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Palm Harbor University, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

When Berkeley Prep and Palm Harbor University next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Berkeley Prep will try to stop Bloomingdale's three-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Palm Harbor University will face off against East Lake and their four-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Palm Harbor University 3.3, East Lake 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
