Preview: Connally Cadets vs. Robinson Rockets

Connally is 6-1 against Robinson since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Connally Cadets will head out on the road to face off against the Robinson Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Robinson took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Connally, who comes in off a win.

Connally entered their tilt with Madisonville with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Connally secured a 22-16 W over Madisonville on Friday.

Kobe Black was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Black's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, Robinson was not quite Gatesville's equal in the second half on Friday. Robinson fell 21-14 to Gatesville. Robinson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Robinson took the loss, they still got scores from Ty Weaver and Christian Lujan.

Connally's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Robinson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Connally has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 346.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Robinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 193.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Everything came up roses for Connally against Robinson in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 58-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Connally since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
