Softball Recap: Beavercreek Comes Up Short

Beavercreek dropped their record down to 7-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 13-3 to the Fairmont Firebirds. The Beavers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firebirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Beavercreek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Viera Barrett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Olivia Blackmore was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Fairmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Fairmont's side, Bailey Young was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Young a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah Perdue, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

While Beavercreek had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
