Basketball Game Preview: Highland Hawks vs. Williams Field Black Hawks

The Highland Hawks will head out to challenge the Williams Field Black Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Highland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.

On Tuesday, Highland humbled Gilbert with a 72-39 victory. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Williams Field has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Higley on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (58), the Black Hawks still had to take the loss.

Highland's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Williams Field, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Highland came out on top in a nail-biter against Williams Field in their previous matchup on January 10th, sneaking past 64-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
