Basketball Recap: Easley Green Wave vs. Wren Hurricanes

Easley lost against Wren back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Easley Green Wave came up short against the Wren Hurricanes, falling 61-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Green Wave have suffered against the Hurricanes since December 16, 2016.

Wren got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava O'Shields out in front who went 9 for 18 on her way to 23 points and seven rebounds. Those 23 points gave O'Shields a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyana West, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Easley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wren, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Easley will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Wren, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Joseph's Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Wren is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.
