Roane County has gone 6-1 against Tellico Plains recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roane County has 11 straight victories, Tellico Plains has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Roane County's win against Sweetwater wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets beat the Wildcats on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1.

Sailor Presley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
Presley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rhyan Henslee, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Tellico Plains came up short against Meigs County on Tuesday and fell 7-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly three runs.
Isabella Wright led a balanced group of hitters, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Addison Joines was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
Roane County pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Tellico Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Tellico Plains' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Roane County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Tellico Plains, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Roane County's hitters?
Roane County was able to grind out a solid victory over Tellico Plains in their previous meeting back in March, winning 6-1. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
