Baseball Game Preview: Steelville Cardinals vs. Sullivan Eagles

Steelville is 0-5 against Sullivan since March of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cardinals will head out to face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Steelville has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Steelville is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Richland, falling 12-5.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sullivan and Potosi meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 8-7.

Sullivan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Steelville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Steelville couldn't quite get it done against Sullivan in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 10-7. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
