Volleyball Recap: Moriarty Comes Up Short

Moriarty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Santa Fe Prep Blue Griffins.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Santa Fe Prep scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.

Michaela Dunn paced Moriarty's offense, picking up seven kills. Dunn got some help from Lily Shelby and her ten assists. Shelby also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Quintana, each putting up three.

Moriarty's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Santa Fe Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Moriarty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Clovis on the 27th. As for Santa Fe Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Capital on the 27th.
