Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Azriella Jorge and Stacia Wonoski Lead Lynn Classical to Victory

While Lynn Classical's win against Revere wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Patriots on Monday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lynn Classical was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Lynn Classical was led to victory by Stacia Wonoski and Azriella Jorge. Wonoski had 18 digs and three aces, while Jorge had 11 digs and two assists. Those 18 digs gave Wonoski a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Lynn Classical was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in six consecutive matchups.

Lynn Classical's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Revere, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Lynn Classical and Revere should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Rams will square off against Medford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (55 vs. 210). Meanwhile, Revere (ranked 93rd) will meet Lynn English (ranked 276th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
